It is important for the Municipality to find a proponent that can handle this situation with compassion for the individuals living unhoused, while meeting the Municipality’s objectives to mitigate hazards. 

Ideally, the successful proponent can respond when activated by the Municipality’s designate, the staff member accountable with managing the Operating Service Agreement, when an encampment is identified for removal and support is required. The successful proponent will work with the Municipality to understand what would be required for removal of the site (in terms of equipment, level of hazard, and handling/disposal methods), and work closely with the Municipality aiding our ability to support residents of the encampment receive timely communications about the remediation of encampments.

    • New asphalt surface sealer throughout Level 5 and exterior portion of Level 2. Includes required surface preparation and cleaning prior to surface sealer application.
    • Localized waterproofing repairs at Stairwell No. 9 entrance/exit door on Parking Level 5. Alberta Forestry and Parks is responsible for managing wildfires within the Forest Protection Area of Alberta. To support wildfire suppression efforts, the Province requires Camps to be provided on an “as-needed” basis with no guarantees of work, however, successful Proponents may be placed on standby for the Province and compensated based on the Services requested to be on standby. Camps will be in road accessible areas, which may include gravelled and temporary access roads for undetermined lengths of time. It is common for the Province to require several Camps at once in multiple locations throughout Alberta. Proponents shall have adequate number of staff, contractors, and resources available to establish the Camp in the timeframes outlined which will necessitate working through the overnight period at no additional cost to the Province.

Project 1: Alberta Surgical initiative (ASI) The Day Surgery area is located on the main level (Level 1) of the MCH. The scope of the project includes the upgrade of two existing Cystoscopy suites to operating rooms, renovation of adjacent support spaces, and the expansion of the Post Anesthetic Care Unit and Day Surgery/Recovery area. 

The construction space is located in an active hospital facility that must remain operational throughout the construction phase. Infection Prevention and Control measures will be required throughout construction.

Project 2: Medical Device Reprocessing Department (MDRD) The MDRD is located on the basement level (Level 0) of the MCH. Medical and surgical instruments, as well as procedural equipment are reprocessed on site in the MDRD.

The scope of the project entails the renovation and expansion of the existing MDRD, the decanting of adjacent departments to accommodate the department’s expansion, and the renovation of areas elsewhere in the hospital to accept the decanted departments.

The scope also includes renovations to 17 soiled utility rooms throughout the site to accommodate the replacement of existing hopper units with macerator units. 

The project scope also includes design and implementation to support continued operation of the MDRD during renovation and construction. This includes phased construction, decanting and hazardous material abatement.

Significant mechanical and electrical system shutdowns will be required to minimize the effect to the site as this is an active hospital running 24 hours/seven days a week. 

It is required that the MDRD remain operational, with minimal reduction in level of services during construction. The project delivery will be completed with multiple components and phases being delivered simultaneously.

Scope of Work:

This landscaping project is a collaboration with the Rotary Club in celebration of the 100th Anniversary of the Club in 2027. 

Rotary has donated four Windmill sculptures which are the culmination of 10 legacy Projects representing each decade of service to High River and District since first chartered in 1928. The sculptures at each entrance represent those ideals: 

Area 1: The center sculpture, “Double Spinner” represents the breadth of activity and inclusivity dedicated to the environment and its citizens by Rotary, Bearspaw First Nation and the Town of High River. 

Area 2: Garden of Ginger represents nature in its natural state. 

Area 3: Elements of the Universe which acknowledges the importance of Solar, Wind, Earth, and Water. 

Area 4: Gemini represents the fearless thinkers who use their creative energy to spearhead innovative progress. The new landscape design incorporates these elements within the design with the use of natural elements as well as native plantings.
