Scope of Work:

The proposed riverbank stabilization is located approximately 7 km west of Whitecourt, Alberta, at 11-NW-22-59-12-W5 (Cutbanks Road) and 05-SW-20-59-12-W5 (Old Ferry Loop Road). Due to the 2023 floods in the Whitecourt area, the riverbanks are unstable and are being undercut, posing a risk to the nearby Cutbanks Road and Old Ferry Loop Road. In-stream work is required to stabilize the banks, primarily consisting of installing riprap below the high-water mark. For the duration of the project, erosion and sedimentation controls must be in place to mitigate the risk of sediment input into the watercourse. The proposed riverbank stabilization will occur at two locations along the McLeod River.

Scope of Work:

Install a new 300mm diameter sanitary sewer forcemain from the existing lift station to the lagoons. The new forcemain will be constructed parallel to the existing line to allow for abandonment in place of the current forcemain at the time of commissioning. Temporary sanitary bypass pumping will be required during the final tie-in and commissioning of the new forcemain.

The existing manhole located at the anaerobic cell will be removed and replaced with two new control gate valve structure installed on the existing inlet pipes serving each anaerobic cell to improve operational control and maintenance access.

Existing Pumps within the Lift Station will be removed and delivered to Xylem for upgrades, then brought back to side for reinstallation.
