The Deep Retrofit Plan (DRP, plan) is a combination of an energy audit and a scenario-based impact analysis, with the primary objective of helping inform capital decision-making by the building owner. Scope of Work:

The major items of work for this tender include:

• Demolition and disposal of an existing two span timber bridge with timber deck including removal of piles to 1.5 m below grade. The timber caps and stringers shall be salvaged as directed by the Consultant and delivered to the RM’s yard in Loon Lake;
• Excavation and backfill as required for construction of the foundation and abutments;
• Installation of driven steel pipe piles;
• Placement of precast concrete abutment caps, cast-in-place concrete for pile-to-cap connection, and installation of lock block wing walls;
• Placement of precast concrete box girders and associated grouting;
• Roadwork to increase road elevation and re-grade the road approaches and ditches on either side of the bridge;
• Fabrication and installation of bridge rails and approach rails; and
• Embankment regrading and erosion control including rip-rap, grass seeding, erosion control blankets, and sediment control.

Site Meeting Notes: A Mandatory Site Visit will be held on May 21, 2026 at 1:30 PM local time at the County Services Building (CSB) site of the work, located at 2700 48 Street, Stony Plain, Alberta T7Z 2Y1. Attendees are advised to dress according to the weather (including appropriate footwear to ensure safety on County sites. The County is not responsible for the safety of anyone attending the Mandatory Site Visit. Attendance at the site visit is mandatory. The County will provide a sign in sheet to confirm all attendance. Only respondents who attend the mandatory site visit will be eligible to submit a quotation. Quotations received from respondents who do not attend will not be considered. This site visit will be the only opportunity for respondents to view the site with Parkland County staff.
