Scope of Work: The proposed riverbank stabilization is located approximately 7 km west of Whitecourt, Alberta, at 11-NW-22-59-12-W5 (Cutbanks Road) and 05-SW-20-59-12-W5 (Old Ferry Loop Road). Due to the 2023 floods in the Whitecourt area, the riverbanks are unstable and are being undercut, posing a risk to the nearby Cutbanks Road and Old Ferry Loop Road. In-stream work is required to stabilize the banks, primarily consisting of installing riprap below the high-water mark. For the duration of the project, erosion and sedimentation controls must be in place to mitigate the risk of sediment input into the watercourse. The proposed riverbank stabilization will occur at two locations along the McLeod River. |
