Scope of Work: This Request for Information (RFI) is issued by Strathcona County (the "County") for the purposes of gathering information about lighting control systems and industry standards in order to assist in the determination of future purchasing options or requirements for lighting control systems. Respondents are asked to respond to the County and provide the information requested. The County’s intent is to create a robust construction standard for lighting control systems for our organization concerning renovations, replacements, and new construction. Additionally, we seek to align our lighting control systems with industry standards, specifically IEEE 3001.9 and relevant RFC standards, to ensure compliance with best practices for safety, efficiency, and performance. The County aims to understand the ability of systems to be cost-effective, have a 20-year lifecycle, include smart capabilities for scheduling and presence monitoring, and operate efficiently without requiring excessive proprietary controllers. Lighting control systems are essential for optimizing energy consumption, enhancing occupant comfort, and providing data-driven insights for predictive maintenance. The County is interested in systems that offer advanced control, automation, and data-driven decision-making capabilities. Ideal systems should support Over-The-Air (OTA) upgrades to keep the technology up-to-date and should be scalable to meet future needs and upgrades. Respondents are requested to provide information such as the following: • System lifecycle and cost-effectiveness • Smart capabilities for scheduling and presence monitoring • System architecture with minimal use of proprietary controllers • Compliance with IEEE 3001.9 standards and relevant RFC standards |

Scope of Work: This Request for Proposals (the “RFP”) is an invitation by Parkland County (the “County”) to prospective proponents to submit proposals for Design-Build Services for a Wabamun Multi-Use Trail Connection, as further described in Section A of the RFP Particulars (Appendix A) (the “Deliverables”). The Hamlet of Wabamun is a significant recreational, residential, and tourism destination within Parkland County, serving both local residents and visitors accessing Wabamun Lake, Wabamun Provincial Park, Waterfront Park, local businesses, schools, and community amenities. Currently, gaps in active transportation infrastructure exist between Wabamun Provincial Park and the Waterfront Park area. Pedestrians, cyclists, mobility device users, and other non-motorized users must travel along portions of 50 Street where dedicated active transportation facilities are limited or discontinuous. The proposed Multi-Use Trail Connection will establish a safe, accessible, and continuous corridor linking these destinations while supporting the County's goals for active transportation, community connectivity, accessibility, tourism development, healthy lifestyles, and sustainable transportation. Parkland County is a rural municipality located immediately west of Edmonton. Covering an area of 256,802 hectares (634,571 acres), it is one of the largest in size and one of the highest populated of all rural municipalities in Alberta. Parkland County has grown to a community of over 30,000 people and has seen generations of families continue to enjoy country living. |

Scope of Work: Alberta Parks operates a wide range of potable water and wastewater systems across the province, supporting both seasonal and year-round recreational facilities. These systems vary in size, configuration, and regulatory classification and are subject to multiple provincial requirements, including obligations under the Environmental Protection and Enhancement Act, the Water Act, Alberta Environment and Protected Areas directives, and Public Health Act drinking-water standards. Differences in system types, regional practices, seasonal operating patterns, and variable staffing levels, including high seasonal turnover in certain regions, make it difficult to consistently track and confirm whether all required monitoring, reporting, and regulatory compliance activities are completed each year. The lack of a uniform, province-wide processes can limit Alberta Parks’ ability to verify compliance, identify gaps, and implement improvements consistently across regions. To address this, Alberta Parks is initiating a province-wide compliance review to identify each facility’s regulatory requirements, assess current adherence, and highlight gaps and provide recommendations to address gaps. The project will also produce a standardized Regulatory Compliance Key Performance Indicator (KPI) Matrix and a centralized annual dashboard showing regional results, enabling Alberta Parks to confidently confirm, on an annual basis, that all required water and wastewater compliance obligations have been met. The purpose of this RFP is to invite Proposals from suitably qualified Proponents to complete a province-wide assessment of Alberta Parks’ potable water and wastewater systems to clearly identify all regulatory compliance requirements and determine the extent to which each facility meets those obligations. |
