PROJECT OBJECTIVE: The primary objective of the project is to eliminate the immediate life-safety and operational risks associated with the structurally deficient Red Barn at Bow Valley Ranch by providing safe, secure, and suitable replacement storage and operational space at the East Shop Maintenance Yard in Fish Creek Provincial Park. The project will support the required vacating, decommissioning, and demolition of the Fish Creek Provincial Park Red Barn, while maintaining continuity of Alberta Forestry and Parks (AFP) operations and minimizing disruption to park stakeholders. This will be achieved through the supply and installation of a new 40 ft. × 24 ft. modular Seacan storage facility, including a compacted granular foundation, precast supports, electrical servicing from the existing Cold Storage Building, and associated building systems, together with improvements to the Cold Storage Building including insulation and natural gas-fired infrared tube heating. The completed facility will provide secure, weather-resistant, year-round storage for AFP operational equipment. The project will provide a complete, functional, and durable replacement storage solution that enables the Fish Creek Provincial Park Red Barn to be safely secured, demolished, and removed while preserving essential park operations.

Scope of Work:

A contractor to provide high quality, reliable and consistent sanitation and cleaning services to the Province for: Bio Processing Innovation Centre (BPIC) including pilot scale processing machines and equipment housed within the facility.

Sanitation and cleaning services are required at BPIC located at 5520 – 36 Street NW, Edmonton, AB. This facility is administered by the Province of Alberta. 

Services required include general services, equipment cleaning and specialized sanitation services for processing rooms and equipment. These services may involve the use of cleaning and sanitizing chemicals and work within confined spaces. All sanitation and equipment cleaning activities shall be performed in accordance with the facility’s Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs) and applicable health and safety requirements.

Equipment to be cleaned may include the following processes: 

  • Wet processing 
  • Industrial application 
  • Extraction and purification 
  • Freeze drying and spray dryer 
  • Wiped film evaporator and reactors 
  • Processing tanks and hoses 
  • Processing pumps 
  • Testing and analysis 
  • Formulation/scale up of cosmetic/personal care products equipment 
  • NNHP development, manufacturing and filling equipment 
  • Packaging and labeling equipment 
  • Floors

Services are generally delivered late in the day and into the evening after close of BPIC’s business day. Services may also be required at weekends. Under normal circumstances two days’ notification will be given and in case of an emergency 24 hours’ notice will be given. The period of delivery is generally Monday to Friday from 4:30 pm until scheduled services are completed. However, the Province may require delivery service during a different time- period based on the needs of BPIC as the Province, acting reasonably, deems necessary.

Number of actual hours required to carry out the Services vary from week to week and are not guaranteed. The Services scheduled by the Province is dependent upon the activity within BPIC. The Province has requested but not guarantee the number of hours of services that is equivalent to 1200 hours of service per year or approximately 24 hours of service per week (based on 50 weeks per year)

This Project involves the complete decant of the existing Foothills Medical Centre (FMC) NICU from Level 5 of the West Wing into the existing General Medicine Inpatient Unit 62, enabling the future redevelopment of Levels 5 and 6 under a separate contract. The Decant Works include upgrades to Unit 62 to support intensive-care functions, including new air handling units with required redundancy, new medical gas distribution, substantial electrical upgrades, new data infrastructure, and significant asbestos abatement requiring demolition and reinstatement of the majority of ceilings. The existing unit layout will remain largely unchanged. Additional work on Level 11 includes a SANTS room, equipment storage, and administrative spaces. A new AHU will be installed on the west roof above the Timberline Cafeteria, with ductwork routed up the building exterior into the decant space. The scope is organized into three (3) work areas, each executed as a single phase, with a full-scale, vendor-equipped headwall mockup preceding the production order of forty- two (42) headwalls. All work will be completed within an active hospital and will be subject to strict Infection Prevention Control (IP&C) requirements.

The work: 

This Request for Quotations (the “RFQ”) is an invitation by Strathcona County (the “County”) to prospective respondents to submit quotations for Metal Roofing Repairs and Interior Architectural Finishes Repairs - Festival Place, as further described in Section A of the RFQ Particulars (Appendix A) (the “Deliverables”). 

The County is seeking quotations from qualified contractors to provide all labour, materials, equipment, supervision, coordination, and services required to complete roof repairs, heat trace installation, electrical coordination, and associated interior restoration work at Festival Place, located at 100 Festival Way, Sherwood Park, Alberta. The Deliverables include repairs to existing roof assemblies and eave systems; replacement of moisture-damaged roofing materials; installation and testing of new heat trace systems and associated electrical modifications; coordination of rooftop equipment removals and reinstatements; interior drywall, painting, and flooring repairs; and all related temporary protection, safety measures, and site restoration activities required for a complete and operational installation. 

The selected respondent will enter into the County’s standard construction agreement. Respondents must demonstrate the qualifications, resources, experience, and capacity necessary to successfully deliver the Deliverables, including project planning, scheduling, submittal management, quality control, safety management, testing, commissioning, record documentation, and closeout services. The successful respondent will be expected to coordinate all activities with County representatives and facility operations, maintain public safety and access throughout construction, and minimize disruptions to Festival Place patrons, staff, and ongoing operations while ensuring the work is completed in accordance with the Contract Documents, applicable codes, and industry best practices. 

The Deliverables to be provided by the selected respondent (the “Supplier”) are as per Sub-Schedule “C-2” of the Agreement (Attachment 1).

The City’s Water & Wastewater team invites responses from qualified suppliers to provide sewer inspection and related sewer maintenance services within the City. The Supplier shall provide all labour, supervision, equipment, tools, vehicles, and materials necessary to perform annual sewer inspections, ad‑hoc flushing , and emergency response services in accordance with the Deliverables and all applicable legislation, regulations, and safety standards. All services shall be performed by qualified personnel using properly maintained equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations, the supplier is responsible for traffic control as necessary. For all flushing activities, the Supplier shall employ a flush-and-capture methodology in accordance with the requirements set out in the commission letter. 

The average annual spend for sewer inspection and related sewer maintenance services over the last 3 years was approximately $150,000.00. Total expected distances to be flushed over the next 3 years is 100km. City sanitary sewer system consists of sewer mains ranging in size from 200mm up to 600mm. Respondents should note that this value is an estimate of annual spend and no guarantee of annual spend during the any contract term.

Existing Elevator is to be modernized with new elevator machine room. The intent of the project is to fully modernize the existing glass elevator to the new 2019 elevator code. The electrical contractor will replace all conduit systems, power, lighting, and fire alarm that pass through the ceiling space at the top of the elevator shaft, five feet outside the elevator shaft, and were affected by the fire. Install new LED strip lighting above elevator thresholds on all floors and connect it to existing elevator lobby lighting controls to meet AEDARSA illumination level requirements. Reprogram the existing elevator lobby smoke detectors and control relays for homing and alternate homing of the new elevator controller. Provide and install new Cat6A, FT6 data cable to the new elevator machine room from the existing wiring closet in the building.
